spring training question

Featured Replies

For anyone that knows, what hotel is closest to Tucson Electric Park?

Closest one is the Holiday Inn Palo Verde, on Palo Verde Dr.

It's about 5 minutes from the ballpark. They are running a spring training special, $84/nite.

Thanks a lot, I just found some pretty good deals on Priceline with airfare and that hotel included.

A quick note about ST...ESPN is going to broadcast a good amount of the games this year in the spring trianing, though I doubt we'll get any coverage.

WGN always has a few games on the weekends.

And mlbRadio broadcasts them all for free too. Then once you're hooked they charge you for the regular season.

Hey aboz, I saw you at Soxfest...Where'd ya get that throwback jersey?

Does anybody know if the Sox offer any kind of discounts/specials with any of the hotels in the Tucson area? I didn't see any on the website and I didn't take time to check out the booth at SoxFest.

I know Jim mentioned that the Holiday Inn right there has a spring training special for 84 a night. There are some other places too. To me the best thing to do is check out expedia.com , hotels.com, orbitz.com, and priceline.com and just search around the genearl Tuscon visinity or wherever you want to stay.

Also check for airfair on their as well or you can always check southwest.com cause they are pretty cheap as long as you book them in advance.

Yeah, i've been looking into all those sites. Southwest seems to be the cheapest for air. I just didn't know if the team had anything else. I've been tossing around what to do for Spring Break this year, somehow I hadn't thought about going down to AZ 'til now.

i went to st last year and stayed at the westin

f*** yea, I stayed there back in the day. Good times.

I've always stayed in the Phoenix area, but thats cause its a little shorter for a drive from where I am and my dad likes to catch a game or two down there (I also like to cause it allows me to see some other teams). Usually we catch one game in Tuscon and another Sox game when they travel to the Phoenix area and then watch another game or two in the Phoenix area.

Either way, like I say in every spring training thread, I recommend it to anyone that can go out there. I'm there every year and I think I figured out that this will be like the 8th or 9th straight year :headbang
