New invite to ST

Featured Replies

Most likely taking Person's spot, here's his scoop.

Frank Campos was added to the White Sox roster as a non-roster invitee, bringing the total in camp to 54 and the total of pitchers to 30. Campos was acquired from Milwaukee in the minor-league phase of the Rule 5 draft during the Winter Meetings in New Orleans.

The 31-year-old, who pitched nine seasons with Triple-A Campeche in the Mexican League, dominated during this past winter ball season in the Mexican Pacific League. Campos topped all hurlers with 10 victories, 68 strikeouts and a 2.19 ERA in 90 innings for Mazatlan.

Interesting....... but I doubt we'll be talking much about Mr. Campos much later than March 31st.

Actually, I made a mistake. He wasn't added to the 40 man roster, he was a non-roster invitee. My mistake, but I can't change the title. He'll be at ST either way though. We may not talk about him past March 31st, but you never know. And even though he may be sent to the minors, he may produce well there, and either make his way up, or be traded. You never know.

Those were pretty impressive numbers in the Mexican League. Maybe, just maybe, he can be an asset to this team.

Fixed the title. He had some really impressive numbers, who knows, maybe he comes out of nowhere and has a solid year or two. Every once in a wihle a guy comes out of nowhere, has two or so solid years and then falls back off the face of the earth.

You can never have too many arms or options, of course I'd hate to depend on options at every position, but the one thing that makes me confident is the middle of the lineup is intact and I think it will have a HUGE HUGE year.
