I went to the Canes VS Hawks last night and that was some game. A nailbiter to the end, which brings me to a question. Why were fans filing out with about 2 minutes to go and only down by 1? Also, that place was empty - although I expected that.

We sat in the 200 section level - Brian felt like splurging and I didn't argue lol. Ok, actually he misread the price guide, but figured this is a once a year deal, it wouldn't be so bad. He was right, we had a blast. Especially when we got dirty looks from two guys two rows from us when we cheered when the Canes scored - that was fun! :headbang :headbang Heck, we were both decked out in Canes gear so there was no mistaking who we were cheering for and we ran into another couple that were cheering for the Canes as well - she even had an authentic Whalers Jersey  (for the jersey, not the girl lol)!

It is sad to see how far the Hawks' franchise has fallen, attendance wise, I mean.

Hurricanes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :headbang

:cheers to Craig Adams, Eric Cole, Rod Brind'Amour and the Little Latvian - Arturs Irbe for the show they put on last night!!!!! :headbang :headbang :headbang

Well, a lot of the Hawks best players such as Goalie Craig Anderson, are down in Norfolk helping the Admirals on their run for a playoff spot in the AHL. Had those players been in Chicago last night, that game would have turned out differently.

I doubt it.

Leighton did a great job - he stopped 46 of 49 shots and some of those were great shots (not all by a long shot, but the Canes got off a number of good shots).

One last thing - in their last 6 meetings the Canes are 5-0-1 against the hawks. Including a 3-2 victory when I went two years ago (an OT victory).

Its not likely the Hawks would have won. They are fielding pretty much an AHL team. I would be surprised if the Hawks could beat the Wolves right now.

The more we lose, the better chance we have at Ovechkin, the better chance Sutter will be gone and it hurts Wirtz. I don't mind it a bit now. I love seeing all of these kids up getting experience. As long as we compete hard, have the kids score a couple and don't get emberassed things are good.

I'm not a Hawks fan in the least, but it was a really good game last night played cleanly on both sides. Give these guys some experience and they should get pretty good.

Because the SlackHawks had used up their daily allotment of two goals per game!

Also because what difference does it make it you put ANOTHER fourth-line checking center out there in the last minute??? They're NOT gonna get the tying goal!

I'm going tomorrow, and if the Slacks are down one with TEN minutes left, I'd be tempted to leave!

HA.

I'm just shocked the Hawks got 49 shots. :o

Your shock is well place. The Canes got 49 SOG.

Well, that makes more sense.

And I was in total shock over that. The Canes average in the 20s for shots on goal in a game.

Yeah, but those games are against NHL teams!

I'd be tempted to avoid the game altogether. There's just no point anymore.

And yet the SlackHawks beat Vancouver, with Arnason scorin a hattrick. I guees he didn't like Sutter pickin a fight with him in da bar afta all.

I'll be happy when he clubs Sutter over the head with a stick ala Marty McSorley.
