March 23, 200422 yr Tonight, on our quad, we had a free concert by Honey Tongue Now I was bummed I was going to miss a band named Honey Tongue, and when I saw the pic of the lead singer, I was even more bummed. I caught a break and my class let out an hour early. I caught about 7 or 8 songs. Very cool stuff. What blew me away was their final song. After finishing up the announced finali they slipped in a beautiful rendition of Imagine. College Campus, cool spring evening, surrounded by a bunch of traditional (younger) students was really cool. It transformed me back 25 years to when I first felt that song. I thought it was so cool that a couple generations later, people still feel the desire to play that song.
March 23, 200422 yr It is a song that transends time. It is always appropriate, and it is always inspirational.
March 23, 200422 yr No doubt...one of those songs that you can't put a lifespan on. It is one that speaks through the years, of its simplistic idea.....Imagine the way things could be. Still one of my favorites to hear, anytime.
March 23, 200422 yr Author One problem I have with the song is sometimes Kevin Mathew's parody comes blasting through. Imagine all the people, sniffing airplane glue . . . I'm glad PA isn't around right now, I guess I just got into an indie band, at least according to their web site. Anyone else heard of them?
March 23, 200422 yr Imagine Imagine there's no heaven, It's easy if you try, No hell below us, Above us only sky, Imagine all the people living for today... Imagine there's no countries, It isnt hard to do, Nothing to kill or die for, No religion too, Imagine all the people living life in peace... Imagine no possesions, I wonder if you can, No need for greed or hunger, A brotherhood of man, Imagine all the people Sharing all the world... You may say Im a dreamer, but Im not the only one, I hope some day you'll join us, And the world will live as one.
