Tonight, on our quad, we had a free concert by Honey Tongue

 

Now I was bummed I was going to miss a band named Honey Tongue, and when I saw the pic of the lead singer, I was even more bummed.

 

I caught a break and my class let out an hour early. I caught about 7 or 8 songs. Very cool stuff. What blew me away was their final song. After finishing up the announced finali they slipped in a beautiful rendition of Imagine.

 

College Campus, cool spring evening, surrounded by a bunch of traditional (younger) students was really cool. It transformed me back 25 years to when I first felt that song. I thought it was so cool that a couple generations later, people still feel the desire to play that song.

It is a song that transends time. It is always appropriate, and it is always inspirational.

No doubt...one of those songs that you can't put a lifespan on. It is one that speaks through the years, of its simplistic idea.....Imagine the way things could be. Still one of my favorites to hear, anytime.

 

One problem I have with the song is sometimes Kevin Mathew's parody comes blasting through.

Imagine all the people, sniffing airplane glue . . .

 

I'm glad PA isn't around right now, I guess I just got into an indie band, at least according to their web site. Anyone else heard of them?
