Retired Numbers

Featured Replies

I bought his pants for $10 at SoxFest

Pants he actually wore? That's pretty cool. My very first year of baseball (1997) I believe was his last. I don't remember him too well, except that he is my light-hitting backup 3Bman on World Series '96 :headbang

Ok ok we're all missing someone here. And that man is....

I didnt start it, i swear

Retired numbers. That is an honor that should be reserved for the very few. To do otherwise would be to cheapen the honor of those that have preceded. I thought it was a mistake to retire Harold Baines' number while he still was an active player. As of right now, there is only only one person who should be on that wall when he retires and that's Frank Thomas.

Ozzie? No way ... just a slightly above average SS.

Robin? Nope ... very good, but not great.

Maybe, just maybe, you'd have to consider #15. Dick Allen. Why? Because that man single handedly saved the franchise for the city of Chicago. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I like the idea.

Julio Ramirez

There, you have to bring that name out.

I do remember when he hit a HR two years ago against us.

No Dan Pasqua or Ron Karkovice love?

Wasn't that in the game that we lost 19-0?

And how could everyone forget the immortal James Baldwin

lol but before we retire james baldwin we gotta retire Jim Parque and Mike Caruso's numbers

Lyle Mouton and

if were giving credit to names like Ron Karkovice and Julio Ramirez then theres other obvious candidates. namely:

Noberto Martin

Tony Phillips

Ken Hill

I can't believe everyone is forgetting "The Milkman" Herbert Perry.

Or what about "Norton, you're the greatest." Greg Norton.

Two of the best 3rd basemen to ever play for the Sox.

Frank most likely or the great Wilson Alverez!! :D Ray Durham.. ;) How about Bo Jackson... :o
