J-Hood Talkin Sox

Featured Replies

Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up, it's 10:10 right now, on AM 670, he's talking about the Jay Marritti article written today.

Again, 670 AM.

I don't pick it up in my apartment, any highlights?

I  missed it, what he say? I like listening to Johnathan, he is a huge Sox fan, and comes out and says it.

No doubt he is a White sox fan, but he differs from all of us because he's not a "Cub hater." His show tonight is dedicated to taking phone calls and asking the viewers what the White Sox biggest rival is; nothing new.

The last caller made a good point - he was basically saying that he doesn't so much hate the Cubs, he hates the attention that is placed upon the Cubs and the comparison of the Cubs/Sox, as such things as the safety of neighborhoods, stadiums, etc.

The caller also pointed out his dislike for Moronotti's column on Friday about the Comisky statue. As J-Hood would say, "solid". :headbang

I can't stand poseurs like J-Hood. He wants to have it both ways -- have the street cred AND be a cynical ratings whore at the same time. At least Mariotti doesn't/can't hide what he is.

I remember JH taunting Sox fans as "bitter and jealous" just because they -- GASP! -- didn't want to see Cubs succeed last October. He even went ahead as to suggest that Cubs winning the WS would actually be **stiffles laughter** a GREAT thing for the White Sox, and that Sox fans who (rightfully) disagree with this idiocy aren't real Chicagoans.

He is just a more artifulate, younger version of Mike North as far as I am concerned.

that's kind of my take on the cubs, I don't despise them, but when my team is always playing 2nd fiddle to a team because of their "great stadium" and "great fans", it annoys me. The media doesn't help, they continue ripping our team, our stadium, and us. The media feeds our fire.

Im positive if J-hood got to choose what was on the air, that there would be almost no Cub talk. He grew up on the South Side, and is a Sox fan. You cant blame anyone on sports radio, or in the paper for having to talk about both teams. Espcially the ratio to Cub/Sox fans. He has to talk Cubs to stay on the air.

I could care less what or who he grew up as.

All I know is that this

still stands.

Without Bernstein, the Score is utterly worthless.

That's essentially how Julie Swieca lost her job at the Score. I remember listening to her show back in February when she was going to dedicate a good portion of her show to the Sox (after all the Cubbie crap was being played) when she was told to talk about the Maddux signing. She didn't seem too happy about it and resigned a few days later.
