Good decision. He is a sure fire lottery pick and that would be impossible to turn down. I would do the same thing in his shoes. And before we get the people saying he isn't ready, who cares he'll be making a ton of money, won't risk injury and school is always there if he wants to when his NBA career is over.

And yes I would be saying the same thing if he had chosen U of I.

Plus that little Duke point guard curse.

Have their been any HS PGs who have had any success?

Who else tried???

There haven't been any to declare. But he has a great chance to be a very good NBA player. 6'6" PGs don't come around very often. Sebastian Telfair on the other hand...

Agreed, I would not go pro if I were Telfair.

Might be a Charlotte Bobcat before its all said and done

Cant disagree with his decision though--might be different if he had gone to AZ or IL

No matter where he went I would have felt the same way. If you are a first round pick (especially the lottery) its to much guaranteed money to pass up on. Your agent takes very little from your first contract because rookies of the rookie salary structure and as long as they do a halfway decent job budgeting their money they are set for life.

Yeah I think Charlotte takes him at 4, unless sum1 like Howard or Deng slips to them.

IMO, only way any highschool should make the jump is if they are guarenteed lottery, possibly top 10.

I'm not so sure about that. I think its really just 1st round picks with lottery obviously being preferable. Personally I probably wouldn't go unless I was top 15-20 but I understand going if you are picked anywhere in the first round. Any first round pick gets a guaranteed contract and if they take care of that money they are already set for life. There is no guarantee that going to college will help their draft status and I'm not convinced players develop better playing college ball as opposed to the NBA.
