May 13, 200421 yr From the SouthTown: White Sox officials and Chicago police said there were several fights among spectators at U.S. Cellular Field during Tuesday night's game against Baltimore, and two arrests were made for disorderly conduct. Several people were taken into custody by ballpark security. No serious injuries were reported. Additional security officers — all off-duty Chicago police officers — were called in for Tuesday night's game, which drew about 9,000 walk-up ticket buyers. Sox spokesman Scott Riefert said warm-weather Tuesday night games have attracted rather raucous crowds for the past two springs. Fans can purchase tickets at half price if they bring an empty Pepsi product to the box office on Tuesday nights. Sox officials are considering further measures to prevent future incidents. "It seems the first warm Tuesday is a wild night," Riefert said. "It's definitely something we don't want here and we'll continue to make adjustments (to security)."
May 14, 200421 yr drunk, 20-somethings, guys and girls. I was amazed at the lack of drunks there today. I can only remember seeing one in my seats and one in the bathroom, the rest of the people were families or friends skipping school or work. I guess the best time to go is mid-week day games to avoid the drunks and have a laid-back atmosphere.
