BrandoFan
People were calling for his head after : Uribe and especally Harris-Robbie comparisons So far: -Willie is out-hitting Robbie's 2003-2004 #s -Willis is out-fielding Robbie -Willie is out-running Robbie (although with his speed and IQ, he should be the best runner in baseball, so he will be better) I admit I was wrong about Small Poppa Willie. There.
Old Socks
Robbe was a shot ball player when we got him, end of story. Actually, he was a year or two earlier.
aboz56
Willie is playing well, but I'm not totally buying on him yet...Let's see what his average is in a month or so and how many bases he steals, then I'll pass total judgment. Until then, the jury is still out.

Until then, the jury is still out. I'm not totally buying him yet either, but he is throwing some leather out there @ second base & he's hitting pretty damn well too. I'll know more at the Break. YASNY
Willie hasn't proved yet that he can do it over the long haul. But you have to like the way he's been playing lately.
southsider2k5
Willie has totally out played our other two former options in Robbie and D'Angelo. I would have never expected him to get over .300, and his patience and ability to work a count have shocked me. The guy seems to get down 0-2 a lot, but always seems to be able to battle back to 3-2 very routinely.
Texsox
Of the question marks going into this season this is one that is at the very least a neutral, but probably a plus from last season. I still think we have closer problems, and CF isn't exactly a strong point with this team. Finally a starter to replace Colon has not emerged. Plusses for the middle of our infield. Al Lopez Ghost (old)
If Willie learns how to use his speed on the basepaths, namely getting from first to second, he could be a heck of a player. Not everybody learns this, however, so I have to stay off the bandwagon until I see more.
mreye
-Willie is out-running Robbie (although with his speed and IQ, he should be the best runner in baseball, so he will be better) IQ? I think that's where he lacks on the basepaths, which is probably more important than just flat out speed.
