May 19, 200421 yr I have not been able to find a link yet but on the radio this morning ABC has contacted Barkley about joining John Madden and Al Michaels in the MNF booth this season. Barkley is under contract with TNT that does not allow him to work for another network but he's rumored to be buying a percentage of the Phoenix Suns and then he would leave TNT for conflict of interest. Barkley is great entertainment and he is a decent basketball analyst but football? I don't know.

May 19, 200421 yr Not a smart move. Don't get me wrong. I love Barkley. He's my favorite sports personality, I'd say. Hell, I'm drinking coffee out of my Barkley mug right now (as my Ron Kittle mug is in the dishwasher ).
May 19, 200421 yr Author I don't think ABC would even be considering this if they could air better games but in this day and age of parity, matchups have gotten that much more difficult to choose.
