May 21, 200421 yr I remember this guy dominated the Yanks last year in Yankee stadium. Tonight the Yankees have scored 4 off him in 4 innings. I'll admit I wanted to see him re-signed this past offseason but not for the price the Angels are paying right now. John Kruk would call him a good pitcher because he's 4-2 but the ERA will probably be up near 5.00 after tonight.
May 21, 200421 yr He is also valuable because he is an inning eater. He saved the Sox bullpen at times last season.
May 21, 200421 yr Colon gave up 2 more runs and has since been yanked in favor of Ramon Ortiz. Mussina, on the other hand has held the Halos to a single run.
May 21, 200421 yr It was a garbage performance. I booed like nobodies business when Colon walked off the field. I also booed Ortiz on his trot out their, but he pitched damn good. Stupid Skanks had to win.
May 21, 200421 yr Colon or Wright, Diaz, Cotts . . . Doesn't seem like a hard question and since I'm not going to be in JR's will, I don't mind him spending the bucks.
May 21, 200421 yr I understand what you're saying, but we know JR doesn't spend Steinbrenner money on this team. A great deal of us would be complaining if we signed Colon to a deal that large and he pitched like this; especially since we would have traded players away to make the deal work.
May 21, 200421 yr Colon is 4-2 His replacements are 0-5 How big would that be in September? My point is don't judge Colon v. Estaban or Mark or Scott or John judge him against our 5th starters and as much as I am happy that Neal is getting a chance, and would greatly prefer Neal at 4-2, and on his way to $51 mil., Right now, Colon looks good to me.
