southsider2k5
I agree.. but it's May.. one night tossing 125 pitches, especially when he wanted to, IMO is not going to effect his arm 5 months from now. If it were isolated it would be one thing. But Loz is averaging 110 pitches a start. That is Dusty Baker land. If he were in the 95 pitch average you can more afford to let him go. Yeah I know ELo wanted to go, but you have got to think of the good of the team first.
Steff
Oh no... 110 pitches!! When did pitchers become such sissies..?? Back in the day (my great, great, grampa's day, not mine) pitchers tossed 150 pitches on three days rest. Little girls out there now... keninem
 Little girls or not, it didn't HURT us to go to the bullpen, and it wouldn't have HELPED us to leave him in, so if ELo wants to complain about it, he needs to realize it's a team game.. I would much rather err on the side of caution.

Steff
Oops, no..*I* am sorry..did I say he complained? I said *if*. Sorry for the confusion. No prob. I just didn't want to indicate something I have no idea of. I'm sure all pitchers want a CG.
keninem
I'm sure they do too..but IMHO, if we have nothing to gain as a team by keeping a pitcher out there, and nothing to lose by bringing someone from the bullpen, I would rather us not take the chance..we have a really good squad right now, and if one of our pitchers were to get injured, we'd be in a world of hurt..we can't even field a full rotation as it is.. I am 100% behind erring on the side of caution.
