6-11 Rauch Fails to Impress

By Alex Ernst

The Sox sent down Jon Rauch, today after his 5-1 loss to the Anaheim Angels in his first start of the seson. Rauch was the latest pitcher to get a turn in the fifth starter's spot after Dan Wright, Felix Diaz and Neal Cotts.

The Sox are expected to make another roster move before tomorrows game. The move could be anything from calling up Arnaldo Munoz for the next turn or an extra bat before the fifth starter is needed. With Ordonez still hurt, an outfielder such as Jeremy Reed or Joe Borchard could get the call. Reliever Jon Adkins (currently on the Sox roster) could also be a possibility for the fifth starter's spot after his strong performance today. If that is the case, there still is a roster spot open.

I hope its not Reed

I hope its not Reed

rotoworld:

Triple-A Charlotte's Joe Borchard is expected to miss five to seven games with a pulled muscle in his right leg.

So it looks like it will be Reed,

I'd guess so, thats assuming Maggs is placed on the disabled list.

I think there is some confusion here. Dransfeldt was called up for Rauch. If Maggs goes on the DL it is likely we will see Reed up.

Ya, this article is a little outdated. Their was some speculation in the article.

Now its going to be Kelly until the Sox need a 5th starter. If Borchard or Reed come up it will be for Maggs (thats if he is placed on the DL).
