Pokemon the First Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back

Pokemon: The Movie 2000

Pokemon 3: The Movie

Pokemon the 4th Movie

Notice the trend, all these movies have "Movie" in the title and are automatically great.

Edit: I forgot the one with Togepi in the convertible.

Hell, I'll name some old movies that were a favorite:

Star Wars

Wizard of Oz

A Street Car Named Desire

The Good The Bad and the Ugly

The King and I (original)

and so on.. :)

In no particular order...

Godfather II

Diner

Godfather

Scarface

Raging Bull

Gladiator

The Party (Peter Sellers rules!)

Any "Pink Panther" movie (w/Sellers)

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World

Stalag 17

I'm sure I'll think of more later.

P.S. Any "Womens' Prison" movie are cool too!!!

Major League

Super Troopers

Not a bad idea at all.

The reason why I started this thread is because I didn’t see any film maniacs around here, but some of you have proven me wrong. I mean, films are a big part of our lives, is it not?

When I do have the time, I’ll post a Top 10 film favorites for each genre :)

I like a lot of movies...way too many to post so I'll post a classic that hasn't been metnioned here yet.

The Deer Hunter

Get out of here!

Really?

When he first comes back to the village and can't find anybody there , so he gets ready to leave as the girl is calling him, then accidentally looks back at the backside of the barn......

That s*** stays with you forever, eso when you're like 12.  :puke  :o

I think the contrast between Flora's face when he first joins the partisans and when he leaves the barn did it for me. While I have heard that he might have been hypnotized at that scene, Klimov did a f***ing amazing job with the facial expressions. To this day, I think Flora's face when he sees the Byelorussian citizens burned in the church is the most powerful anti-war thing I have seen. For a first time actor to give a performance that good is absolutely astonishing.

I had a feeling you might have seen this, Brando. I tink I'm one of the 3 people in Indiana who have actually seen this movie.

Usual Suspects

Remember the Titans

Swimming with Sharks

True Romance

Ocean's Eleven

Some Like it Hot

Minority Report

Jerry McGuire

Saving Private Ryan

Philadelphia

American History X

Oh yeah - I thought at the end he was the youngest 70yo I've ever seen. :puke

I also remember the girl dancing in the forest like Dietrich or Shirley Temple, which is what they most likely showed in the nearest town's movie theater before the War. Stuff like that. Other things I think I blocked out.

Have you seen Tarkovsky's Ivan's Childhood )(Ivanovo Detstvo)? It came out decades before Come and See (idi i smotri), deals with a similar theme, but it's done in a completely different style, just so unforgettably beautiful and poetic.

It came way before Solaris, I think Tarkovsky's first film. I think they just relased a criterion DVD.

Some personal favorite movies:

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Star Trek II-Wrath of Khan

Scarface

Roadhouse (i hate to admit it but i stop to watch it everytime it's on tv)

Toy Story I and II

Unforgiven

and Hoosiers

just to name a few

juddling

True Romance

Ocean's Eleven

Some Like it Hot

Saving Private Ryan

I'm glad someone finally mentioned "True Romance".

Drexel (Gary Oldman) is one of the best characters in recent movie history.

Christopher Walken (Vincent Cocotti) is also awesome, as was Brad Pitt (as the "pot head").

Oh yeah - I thought at the end he was the youngest 70yo I've ever seen.  :puke

No, but I'll see if I can find it anywhere where I live (doubtful).

Niceness....What about a top 10 in sports?

Niceness....What about a top 10 in sports?

Man... You have no idea how long it took me to make that list. There are hundreds of movies out there and I had to choose only ten for each genre. When I do have the time, I’ll make the Top 10 Sports ;)

Right now, I need a :drink

Ha I'm not concerned about seeing it right this second. I just thought since you had so many genres, there should be a sport one. Very cool lists though; I'm too lazy to consider writing that many titles.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Harold and Maude

Pulp Fiction

Reservoir Dogs

Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2

Akira

Beavis and Butthead Do America

Romero

I am suprised no one has yet mentioned...

One Flew the Cukoos Nest

Awesome movie!!! Jack Nicolson rocks!

Top 10 Comedies:

Caddy Shack

Office Space

Major League

Super Troopers

Fast Times at Ridgemont High

Animal House

Weekend at Bernies

Road Trip

American Pie

Beavis and Butthead

Beverly Hills Cop (so its 11, lol)

Top 10 Action:

Die Hard (going to go with the series here)

True Lies

Terminator (both 1 and 2 were good)

Kill Bill (both volumes)

Desperado (how can't you like some of those action scenes)

Man on Fire (badass action scenes in that movie)

Gladiator

Unforgiven (may not fit this genre)

Indian Jones (soley cause I saw you put it in this genure, I'd say it goes more along the lines of adventure, but damn its hard enough putting this in a list as it is)

Lethal Weapon (didn't know whether comedy or action..probably more comedy, but oh well)

Will do action, drama and scifi later...cripes this took longer then I suspected.
