June 19, 200421 yr While watxhing the game last night, with 2 outs and a runner on 1st (Burke), Neal Cotts came to bat. After falling behind the count 1-2, he got it to a full count laying off 2 close pitches. On 3-2, he laced a double by the 'Spos 3rd baseman. It was awesome because he leans back in his batting stance. It was pretty fun and I think he is now one of our better batting pitchers. He could have had an RBI if Burke wasn't so damn slow. Props to Cotts!!
June 19, 200421 yr Buerhle will always be our best hitter. I'd even consider using him in pinch hit situations ala Dontrelle Willis a few nights ago.
June 19, 200421 yr Buerhle will always be our best hitter. I'd even consider using him in pinch hit situations ala Dontrelle Willis a few nights ago. I wouldn't agree, I think Garland is better. Buehrle even admitted that.
June 19, 200421 yr Buerhle looked pathetic swinging the bat I agree, the only hit I ever remember him getting was a RBI single last year (i believe it was last year) at Wrigley.
June 19, 200421 yr Yeah that hit was at Wrigley. Probably the reason a lot of people think he's the best hitting pitcher ever. but last night...even Hawk and DJ were laughing about how horrendous his approach was at the plate.
June 19, 200421 yr Author but last night...even Hawk and DJ were laughing about how horrendous his approach was at the plate. Laughing at, making fun of, making a mockery of, dissing....It's all the same thing right?
June 19, 200421 yr I wouldn't agree, I think Garland is better. Buehrle even admitted that. Exactly. Even Hawk was saying Garland was their best "pure" athlete pitcher on the team.
June 19, 200421 yr Author Wasn't Garland a football or basketball player or something like that before?????
June 19, 200421 yr Didn't Mark get 3 hits yesterday? Or did I read wrong? Buehrle had, I think, a sac bunt, groundout, and strike out last night.
June 19, 200421 yr Garland played OF in HS (as well as pitching of course), so that by default makes him our best hitting pitcher. Buehrle is awful at the plate. Did anyone see where he almost managed to hit himself on the hit by bunting?
June 19, 200421 yr Heh. If Buehrle sticks to pitching like we all know he can, I could care less if he can even touch that ball with a bat.
