New aspect of T-Mac Trade

Featured Replies

This from the Orlando Sentinel,

Basically the Orlando and Houston trade would go down. Then Francis would be traded for Ray Allen. Then Orlando trades Drew Gooden and Cuttino Mobley for Caron Butler. I don't mind the 1st idea, definitely not the 2nd one though.

Or Francis and Gooden would be traded to Washington for Gilbert Arenas and Kwame Brown.

Hey buddy, slow down.

Let the trades occur, then we can analyze.

I don't buy that Miami would deal Caron Butler for those two. I think the Orlando Sentimel is blowing smoke to pump up Orlando fans.

I disagree. I love the NBA trade rumors. I appreciate you posting this stuff, DBAHO.

If they complete the initial trade, they should go ahead and deal Francis and Gooden to the Wizards for Brown and Arenas.

PG: Arenas

SG: Mobley

SF: Okafor

PF: Brown/Hunter/Cato

C: Brown/Hunter

And if Grant Hill comes back, he'd be a 6th man. They should also add a free agent center.

That would be one hell of a team, man. A damn good defensive team, with defensive powerhouse aspirations.

Steve Francis turns the ball over more than anyone. You'll get far in the playoffs with Stevie Franchise if he has a good supporting cast, but you'll never win it all. Well, unless he's playing with Shaq, Duncan, or Garnett. But that's about it.

SF: Okafor

:huh

Allen for Francis? Hmm, i'd say no as a Sonics fan unless we got a 1st round pick b/c Allen is one of the best 2 guards in the league and the PG position we addressed by drafting Ridnour last year.

What is this though? Like the 9th different TMac rumor? lol

:huh

Did he grow a couple inches this past year? Because I remember him being projected as a small forward. But he's definitely a power forward.

PG: Arenas

SG: Mobley

SF: ????

PF: Okafor/Brown/Cato

C: Brown/Hunter

That's some superior fire power down low, good enough to give the Pistons a challenge.

Drew Gooden is overrated and Caron Butler is a stud. Mobley and Gooden for Butler would be a solid deal for the Magic. I don't see why the Heat would want to do it though. The players seem to be equal, but they have Brian Grant at PF. I can't see them trading away a star and key to their team like Butler.

Caron Butler is a stud.

I don't know. Have you looked at his game log? Because sure, he was a stud against the Bulls (who isn't), but he's a bench player at best. A 6th man. His 2003 season was a suckfest, putting up like 4 points in 35 minutes, consistently.

Now, Mobley on the other hand....there's a stud. Kobe Bryant can't shake him. That's some defense right there (always the #1 aspect that you have to look at). He'll put up 25 on ya. He shoots 40% from 3 point range. That's how you build, right there.

Butler really stepped up in the 2nd half of the year. He got better as the year went on. He averaged 12.5 points, 6 boards, 3 assists, and 1.4 steals per game in March. 11, 7, 1.6, and 1.1 for April. He was still only in his 2nd year. The Heat on the whole got better because of young guys like him. And he stepped up in the playoffs. 12.8, 8.5, 2.4, and 2.1 in the playoffs. He has only played 2 seasons. The best is yet to come.

Yeah, maybe it was because I was expecting a lot more from him. Wade and Odom are definitely stars, though. If that team had a center, they'd be going places. As it is now, they're a lock for the playoffs, but they're not going to win any titles. They're way too small.
