Ben Gordon

Featured Replies

OTL is taking a look at the life of Ben Gordon after Sportscenter. Tune in

Just from what I saw from that clip his neighborhood looks a lot like Ron Artest's. I remember when OTL did a bit on Artest not knowing how to spend his money. He was wasting his money and he 'only had a million left' lol. OTL is such bulls***. All that show does is overdramatize s***.

Ron is a very intelligent basketball player, although his temper gets the best of him at times.

But off the court? WOW. What a complete dope. I was flipping through the channels a while back, and he was rapping on the best damn sports show. It wasn't pretty.

From the very beginning, Artest screwed himself. He surrounded himself with the wrong people. THat seems to happen a lot these days. I dont know alot about Gordon, but from what I heard tonight, I doubt that will be a problem. Plus, Gordon doesnt have menatal issues like Artest does. (Artest refused to take medication for a while)

Yeah, that's messed up. There's a lot of questionable stuff that Artest has done over the past few years, off the court.

But he's still a certified ass kicker out there on the court. I still can't get over how beautiful that Detroit vs. Indiana series was. I'm looking forward to the rematch next year.

No doubt. But he is a mess waiting to happen. I'd rather not have him in the locker room.

He seems to have a good personality. I think he has a great game. I would love the pick if it weren't for his height. He also doesn't seem to be a great fit on this team. We will have to see what happens as the draft progresses.

I agree w/ everything you on that it seems like Gordon has a great personality and game, but I disagree about not liking the pick. Although, it would be ideal to have a 6'6'' or 6'7'' SG, it's not the end of the world to have one that's just over 6'2''. I mean, look at the 76ers team that went to the NBA Finals a few years back. They had Eric Snow (6'3'') and A.I. (6'0'') as their starting guards, and I think they did just fine b/c Snow was just a great defender even though he was shorter than prefered(i.e. Hinrich) and A.I. could score at will(i.e. Gordon). Of course, I'm not saying that Gordon is just like Iverson, but he is that type of player (luckily, w/out the attitude). And, Hinrich is a really good defensive player like Snow, but has a better offensive game than Snow. Plus, we could have the big men that the 76ers didn't if Curry and Chandler develop, and I think they will. They both seem to be working really hard on improving this offseason, especially Chandler who it seems like is always working out at the Berto Center.

Well, that's not entirely accurate, as they started that year with Theo Ratliff, and ended it with Dikembe Mutombo. Both of those dudes were two of the best defenders in the league at that point (Ratliff still is). They also had some other beef to work with. Tyrone Hill was still pretty good.

No Dikembe, no finals.

I didn't mean to make it sound like the 76ers big men sucked, but just that ours could be better than what they had. I mean saying that if Curry and Chandler develop into the players they can be, then we'll be even better off than the 76ers b/c we'll have better big men. Chandler, if he can stay healthy, can be our Ratliff/Mutambo type player (he's not as good as them defensively, but is still pretty damn good), and Curry would be way better offensively than any of their big men.
