Old Socks
I was surprised the Royals didn't get more for him. We gave up more for Everett last year.

Rex Hudler
I was surprised the Royals didn't get more for him. We gave up more for Everett last year. I gotta disagree with you there Jim.... Buck, Wood and Teahen are all closer to the Majors than the three we gave up. The three we gave up have the potential to prove your point, but Rupe and Webster are still a long way from the Majors. Francisco would not be in the Majors with the Sox. Opportunity knocked in Texas, but I don't think it would have here with the Sox. He would still be in the AA rotation. I like Buck. Don't know a lot about Teahen, but a lot of people seem to be high on him. And Wood should give them a nice middle to back of the rotation starter. Time will tell, but I think KC got more than we gave up, simply because their guys have proven it at a higher level.

Allan Baird thought Mark Teahen had more potential than Kevin Youklis which says sumthin about his ability. Frankly I was suprised he wasn't promoted from AA to the A's when Chavez went down with his broken arm thanks to the D-Train Marte. KC got their catcher and third base prospects, Neil Wood was 11-3 for the A's AAA team and should be a #4 or #5 starter for the Royals. They can trade Joe Randa, when Teahen is ready for a prospect or 2 as well. And they got Denny Bautista for Jason Grimsley.
aboz56
Rex, do you have any logic as to why we are still employing Mike Jackson. Wouldn't Baj or Majewski be better options at this point? I've seen Majewski in ST this year and also in a few games here in Louisville and his fastball has looked explosive at times. Never seen Baj except once in ST so I can't really comment on him at this point. Just wanted to get your two cents.

I think he likes having veterans around and feels he needs to show confidence in his players to help them rebound. At some point, a change will need to be made. Whether that is Majewski, Bajenaru, Santiago or another acquisition, I don't know.
Old Socks
Rex, I gotta admit that I didn't know much about Teahen and Wood. This was my subtle way of getting a scouting report out of you. And, you must admit that Beltran is a bit higher on the food chain than Everett. They should have gotten more for him. I wish I knew what KW would have given up for Beltran, but it was obviously less than what the Royals received. Then again, center field is not our biggest priority.
