So does this mean the Ortiz deal is off?

Not at the moment. Kenny Williams will see how we are going to be doing in the next few weeks, evaluate and go from there. Look toward the trade deadline to get the deal done.

Not at all....It's just Mags won't be part of it.

What would make you think, after the shock we all had today with Olivo being gone, that all of the sudden Maggs is safe.

KW would trade Mags in a heartbeat if he could get the right deal.

If they dont deal Maggs then they are going to sign him. I cant see KW letting him go for nothing especially with attendance way up this year.

I could see the sox dealing Shoey or putting him in the bullpen and dealing one of Diaz/Rauch (or both) for Ortiz.

There's no guarentee you can sign him... If he was shipped out, and Jones came in return, We'd have jones locked up for 3 more years. I'd say that's a good trade off.
