Gordon, Koch, Marte, White, ?, ?

I don't trust Glover, Wunsch may lose spot to Munoz, IMO.

-Munoz should be sent down to AA and given a chance to start.

-Sanders should be ready to step in if Wunsch struggles

"Wunsch Sucks"??? he was probably in the top 5 for 2000 for left handed relievers. And so far this ST he's pitched amazingly. He doesn't deserve to be bashed.

How could you say he is not very useful? I know he is not a premiere reliever, but he can pick off lefties like none other. He's not one you put up against righties often, but when you got a tough lefty against your team, you put Wunsch in and BAM! Hopefully, the batter will be gone. If anyone, I'd choose Wunsch as the sharpshooter to pick off a lefty that is threating the White Sox in a game, although Marte is very tempting as well.

.. kelly cant go more than 1 inning without falling apart at the seams... we have guys who can not only get out the tough lefties but can go a few innings as well.. what the heck do we need to take up roster space with "one man kelly" when we can put more productive players in that slot.....

The problem with Wunsch is that he's only a lefty specialist...you basically use him on one batter. While he's effective against that one batter, he doesn't help eat up any innings if the bullpen is tired or had to be used ealry in the game. It's almost a waste of a bullpen spot...you could only hope one of the other relievers could get out the big lefty bat...possibly Marte.

i figured kelly was in for battle for exactly the reasons you stated...he makes it tough on a pitching staff thats only going to carry 11 pitchers instead of 12...but right now kelly is outpitching all the contenders for his spot..if that keeps up he should keep his spot

In today's game i don't know how much room their is for specialists, or a LOOGY. Who can tell me what a loogy is by the way? It's a good question.

Arizona is a place with thin air....so is Colorado. White had an ERA of over 6.00 in Colorado. His struggles in Arizona do not surprise me.

 

Last year, in St. Louis, White had an ERA of under 1.00(like 0.82).....I don't expect him to put up a 0.82 ERA, but I do think he'll be able to put up a mid 3.00s or lower ERA.

White is a fly ball pitcher and fly ball pitchers suck in Arizona....
