I can live with Liefer off the bench, but quit the complaining. I think we could always use a good lefty bat off the bench of course he was far from good when he was simply coming off the bench.

Manuel doesn't use pinch hitters, and Liefer is just a pain in the ass. He just helps the tinkering process.

You don't really need pinch hitters when you have the Dh. The only thing you really can use is lefty righty matchups if you don't have as complete of a lineup or a deep bench, but the Sox just don't play that way.

 

Of course I wonder how much different things would be if we had someone like Scioscia who loves moving guys and pinch hitting late in the games or moving guys over late in the games.

 

Manuel at least tends to move guys over.

Liefer has no real place on this team. If he's going to help the team, he has to be in there everyday, and that won't be happening. So he, Foulke, and Frank can all go to Boston and chill.
