Sox and the Playoffs..... A Question.....

Featured Replies

I've been reading alot lately..... no..... alot since about March, that all the White Sox have to do is get to the ALDS then anything can happen once they are there. Recent struggles aside, this is a team that, even when Maggs and Hurt were in the line-up, only have a season high 5-game win streak to show as anything even remotely close to a hot streak. So, my question to all those who have been pushing the "get there then win and win alot" philosophy is, does this team, as it is right now, if it's lucky enough to take advantage of a tough upcoming MIN schedule, have the talent to make a run against an Anaheim, Oakland, Texas, New York, or Boston?

In my opinion if the sox can get in and have a healthy maggs and frank they can compete with anybody. If the sox do get in the one team I really don't want them facing is oakland for obvious reasons their pitching staff and the colliseum.

Right now all I want to hear when I turn on the radio October 4th is

"The White Sox are Central Division Champions."-John Rooney (2000 Season)

But really all we'll be hearing is

"See you next year folks."

This team can't do it without Mags and Frank. Sorry

Alright - then I guess on July 31st, 2004, I'll say to you 'See you next year.'.

If you know this team isn't going anywhere, no need to be here.

The White Sox, right now, are like a car wreck. You're not supposed to but you have to look.

As of right now...probably not. The lineup we are running out daily sucks ass.

However, I think if we can get Maggs and/or Frank back, we have a shot. Maggs has a big time bat and can be a very good hitter, and if we had that for the postseason, we could go places. If Thomas comes back, we have a guy with all kinds of power and has a very good eye...with that, we become a better team.

If we get both back, I have no doubt we can compete with them.

Rowand - CF

Lee - LF

Maggs - RF

Thomas - DH

Valentin - SS

Konerko - 1B

Uribe/Harris - 2B

Crede - 3B

Alomar-Burke-Davis - C

with Everett on the bench is very solid and can hit with anyone. Compare that lineup to the s*** lineup we run out there day in and day out.

You know....this better than thou attitude of those who believe the sox are gonna win the division this year over people who have made valid arguments as to why they dont see it happening is getting quite old...

You know this is just a message board not a SHRINE worshiping white sox baseball...

People are allowed to express their opinions....

I havent given up hope but injuries and this current teams recent history of not winning when it matters are all stacked up against us.

I do think that genuine whitesox fan are allowed to show their frustration off as they choose to do so...and yes everyone should have to put up with it

Just my opinion of course
