September 2, 200421 yr Good to see that he battled after the 3rd inning, but a little worrisome to see him not be able to beat people when his breaking stuff isn't working. But hey, it's one inning of a AA game after all. I think we are starting to get obsessive about McCarthy. But there's not a lot to be excited about this year. It is pretty awesome to have one of our own tearing up the minors. He is a great kid on top of it all. Go BMAC@!!!!!
September 2, 200421 yr Nice to see he got hit, but buckled back down and got in a groove. I actually think B-Mac might be a bit relieved that he didn't hav his best outing and gave up a couple of runs, it will help take some pressure off him.

I think you are nuts...... lol A player never wants anything other than their best outing ever. He took the loss. There is no "relief" in pitching bad and losing.

Of course he wants to do that, but all I'm saying is that it's a bit unfair for him to be mentioned as a possible call up as a 5th starter if he keeps pitching so well, when really he needs another year at least to keep developing. I was probably wrong in the first place though.
September 2, 200421 yr With all that lack of execution resulting in those wasted opportunities, you can see the Sox are getting their minor league players prepared to play White Sox baseball. :headshake
