Maggs might not be ready for 2005

Featured Replies

I really like Mags, but he made it a business by wanting so much, and now he screwed himself over. That's life. Its not like he didn't make $14 million this year.

--I hear you but he didn't do anything that most all players do.

All guys of Maggs' stature play the final year of a contract and wait

for the big bucks of Yankeedom in the offseason.

I feel sorry for Maggs also. Very sorry for this class act.

But as far as the monetary aspects of this, I can't imagine any team

giving him more than a one–year deal for way way way less

money than he was expecting, considering the uncertainty.

Its tough luck for Maggs, but at the same time its hard for me to get sad over the whole thing. I lvoe Maggs as a player, but from all I know he had a more then fair offer on the table. It is absolutely ridiculous for him to think or think he was worth Vladdy money and from everything I've heard thats exactly what he wanted.

Bottom line, the Sox actually stepped up to the plate with a fair offer, he thought he was worth more and got hurt...its tough luck, but s*** happens I Guess. I wish him nothing but the best of luck, because he was always classy on and off the field.

misunderstood the injury? its kinda like a severe bone bruise... swelling in the marrow due to immense trauma... i.e. the collision. I doubt highly that there was a pre-existing condition

So far, the things I've read about it state that isn't something that develops that quickly. Never said I was a doctor, just stating what I have read and experienced.

It didnt develop right when the collision occurred... they fixed the muscle tear, then by the time he tried to come back, the swelling was showing up, albeit aided in development by his activity on it
