It didn't happen, baggio. The Detroit turnout was good, even heavy, but it was no where near 95% of the vote, no where near.

My recollection is that it did not even reach 60% of registered voters.

Anyone who claimed 95% is an absolute liar, so I would advise never to watch that news source again.

county by county 2000 Michigan election results

Look up Wayne County, where Detroit is, Given the total vote in the mid 700,000s, that would be maybe 55-60% of the registered total. If 95% of Detroit voters did vote, than almost no one in the rest of Wayne County voted at all. You think that is so? Again, whatever source you had for that lied because the Detroit vote was no where near 95%, no where near.

You might recall that in 2000 Michigan's secretary of state was Candace Miller, Republican, and Republican John Engler was governor, and Engler has promised that Michigan would be a "firewall" to protect G. Bush in 2000.

Search for yourself. Michigan had about a 62% voter turnout and Detroit was in line with that.
