Free Agent SP's in the Playoffs

Featured Replies

Lowe. A project in USCF. Would he rebound or not?

Radke. Not a ground ball pitcher. Too many HR at USCF?

Ortiz. Too many walks and too many HR's. Deadly combo for us at the Cell.

Perez. Question mark away from Chavez.

Martinez. Ability to stay healthy? Lack of IP strain on BP?

Clement. Has he hit his peak and going to revert back to the inconsistant pitcher he has been?

Pavano. Could he still be productive coming to AL? '04 simlar to Loaiza's '03?

Lieber. Health and availability questions.

None of these guys are a sure thing and all have questions marks. Pick your poison, gentlemen.

Odalis Perez showed his true colors in the playoffs; now everyone knows what type of pitcher he is.

What big surgery did Clement have? I wasn't aware he was hurt before

Clement was taken out of a few games late in the season....complained of neck pain if i remember. I don't think surgery was involved, but it raised questions.

He had major shoulder or elbow surgery a few years back. This was long before he joined the Cubs. But it was something that made people question his durability.

Looking back, Clement's had 6 straight years of 30 or more starts. He hasn't gone 200 innings in each season, but hasn't missed significant time in 6 yrs.

I wouldn't write off a 27 yr old pitcher who threw in the playoffs for the 1st time. Esp as veterans have been hit hard as well--Radke, Schilling yesterday, Clemens.

And Perez wasn't hit that hard. It was the walks he gave up that killed him.

FU Jon Lieber!!!

Why couldn't you just roll over, have your option declined and end up pitching game #3 of the ALDS next year for the White Sox?

Any pitcher who can beat Bos. 2 times in a month should be re-signed by the Yanks. Even if he gets lit up his next few starts.

But that $8 mill is a tough sell, esp. as the league lit him up for a .298 BAA in the reg. season. Maybe the Yanks will rework a deal, for 2 yrs at $5,6 mill per
