I'm thinking of hoping on a plane next month and visit my congressperson's "local" office in Austin.

 

The congressional districts down here look like a brisket BBQ plate. 4 long thin strips.

Actually it apears I have two decent choices. The problem is they are both so Austin centered there is very little info on border issues.

If the Federal courts end up turning over the redistricting like it looks like they might now, just two years til the Texas GOP gets bit in the ass.

IMHO, this wasn't about Texas being a GOP or DEM state, it is more about how wide a margin for the GOP.

 

Texas is a Republican state at this time and moving steadily more and more to the right.

 

BTW, did everyone know Bush bought the Crawford Ranch shortly before running for President? The media makes it seem like the ancestoral home of the Bush Dynasty.

He bought it in 1998 IIRC.

Have you read the story in this month's Texas Monthly about Texas leadership style? Pretty good article. Nice issue except for the 200 pages of lawyer ads again.
