December 1, 200421 yr I think Klesko is always been a good hitter, he needs to avoid Injury. The Power going down kinda scares me, But when he hits the ball hard it screams. Where would he play tho? He's a firstbaseman and doesn't wanna play left again. Ramon Hernandez is a good catcher with a good bat. Wouldn't mind him I remember he just murdered us to shreds when he was with Oakland
December 1, 200421 yr Petco park is no good for left-handed power hitters so it's no suprise his power numbers decreased. I had no idea that he was averse to returning to left field, and if that's the case, there really is no place to put him. Ramon Hernandez is sick, but I don't see them giving him up.
December 1, 200421 yr Oh I figured Klesko was more then happy playing left field. The only thing I thought was that Klesko still had an extra year on his contract. I think the big thing is he isn't happy playing in PETCO and has been very outspoke in regards to it. He isn't a bad defefnsive left fielder though. I think any number of possibilities would be out their with Lee going to the Pads for Klesko and one of Hernandez or Burroughs. Maybe the Sox have to include someone. But Klesko would be a close bet to replace Lee's bat and would provide left handed power whil Burroughs is a great young 3rd baseman who lacks power but does everything else well, imo or you get a good catcher in Hernandez (both offensively and defensively).
December 1, 200421 yr CHI.. I would do the deal, but where does that leave Crede and Uribe? If we sign a SS/2B ?? Sean, IMO would be good in the 2 hole.
December 1, 200421 yr CHI.. I would do the deal, but where does that leave Crede and Uribe? If we sign a SS/2B ?? Sean, IMO would be good in the 2 hole. I think it would open up the potential to deal Crede elsewhere, possibly for relief pitching. As far as Uribe, as of now he's the starting SS unless the Sox add someone else and I'd assume they could maybe snag a leadoff hitter to be their 2nd baseman after all this went down. Who knows, just figured I'd throw it out their, especially since I'm probably one of the bigger Klesko fans in baseball (in the sense that I've long included him in different trade suggestions involving the Sox). I also agree with ya on Burr being in the 2 hole. The thing is Klesko is well liked in San Diego and Burroughs was the golden boy they always talked about as a prospect (like Joey B was for the Sox).
December 1, 200421 yr What about swapping 3b.. if we could? I agree with those 2 bats in the lineup something it has needed for a long time.. Balance. Lee/Crede Klesko/Sean B/RP I would be happy with that in a heart beat. 2b ..someone 3b Sean B CF Rowand 1b Pauly DH Thomas/Everett LF Klesko SS Uribe RF Dye? C Davis/Burke just a thought.
December 2, 200421 yr NO thank you.. Stats NO thank you he had a career year in Texas, he more of a bench guy than a everyday OF ..IMO Kinda similar to Posednik in that regard.
