YASNY
Actually Maggs rejected the offer he has originally asked for, then the Sox tried trading him. Ummmm ... not exactly. The $ "may" have been there, and the years "may" nave been offered, but how was it structured? Was it was Magglio asked for? In other words, I offer you a job for $150K a year for 3 years .... but, it's payable at at $10 a week until the 3 years is up, then I'll pay you off at $10k a year until you are paid off .... zero interest, of course. Yet, you asked for $150k per year salary. I offered it to you, but if you turn it down, you are a greedy SOB.

The last offer has been reported at 5 years $70 million all on time. And even with a number like that you can't compare someone at a $150,000 a year for a deferral and $14,000,000. That is just silly IMO.

Also, I have never seen anything that stated a 5 year contract at $14million per was offered to Magglio. You're a greedy SOB!

I'll promise you this, when I win the powerball tommorrow, Tex can talk about how great I am, and how I deserve every dollar, and I am not greedy at all for not sharing it. Now that's a pyramid scheme Don't count another man's money. Don't presume to understand what motivates him. If Maggs said, it isn't about the money, I just want out of Chicago, a couple people would be b****ing about that. Remember A-Rod wanting out of Texas, for less money, and a few people vilified him for that. And when you receive the $14,000,000 you better buy a damn spell check program for here, it't the least you can do. And whichever state you win the lottery in, you cannot ever move away from that state. Edited December 7, 2004 by Texsox
