Well I was just going to keep this to myself but most of the posters here at soxtalk are like my long distant brothers/sisters to me. So here it goes. Last Friday a kid named Jason that goes to our school dies in a car crash around 92nd on the southside of Chicago. He was only 19. Another passenger was also killed a day after, and a another walked out like it was nothing but he'll remember this forever. I didn't know Jason well at all but I knew what he looked like. He was very goofy and very hardworking I'm told and sure of. Five long years of high school he took instead of the minimun 4 to graduate but he did it. He had a pet snake who he took to school one day which kinda freaked out most and put a smile on the face of others. He had a ton of friends at my school who respected him. The guy has a kid (daugther-barely a year old) who he just baptized a month ago. His mother has now lost her older and younger (Jason) sons right now. My condolences go out to Jason's family and especially his mom right now. His funeral was yesterday I believe. I think there's going to be a party tomorrow to honor Jas, and if there is, I'll be there.

That's so awful. Prayers and kind thoughts to that family... :pray

Thats horrible. Thoughts go out to their family.

If you go to that party, don't become another DUI satatistic. Condolences.

That really sucks! Prayers to the family and the small child.

When I was a Senior in HS we had 2 teachers and 4 students in a van get rear-ended by a drunk driver. The van exploded, killing all inside. The driver's girlfriend also died. You guessed it, he lived. Crazy, ain't it. It was a real tough year.
