Metro Security

Featured Replies

So I went to see Butch Walker last night at Metro - great show, by the way, Butch rocks and is a great showman - but something happened to put me a little ill at ease. Or should I say, something DIDN'T happen.

Not ONE person was checked out at all on the way in! No purse check for the girls, no patdown, no NOTHING.

VERY off-putting, given the recent Dimebag Darrell murder on stage.

I realize that the vast majority of the audience was comprised of 14-to-20 year old girls, but to not check anyone was kind of negligent, IMO.

There were no incidents at all, and I'm sure security will be more stringent when I go to see Rise Against in February, but still.......

Wow, that is kinda surprising. Almost everywhere checks you before a show now.

Very few places check you thoroughly. If you are wearing a big coat, you can sneak a lot of stuff in.

Weirdest part is, Metro is one of the more careful clubs about security. I've ALWAYS been patted down on the way in before, and this is for the past 20+ years - I saw my first show there in 1983. They always have guys go to one side and ladies to the other and do a purse check, patdown, all that.

The timing of my first "clean walk-by" was just really surprising.

Once you're inside though, they have some of the BEST security of any of the music venues in town. You can't get away with ahem 'anything' those guys are on you like flies instantly.
