if he thinks he's worth that much he could stick it up he's pipe and smoke it!!!!!

That would require 2 near impossibilities:

 

a)The willingness to increase payroll by about $15 million from where it is right now; and

 

b)Kenny Williams actually getting an up-front talent edge in a trade he negotiates.

I get the feeling that Delgado is going to end up taking a one year deal somewhere after people get sick of waiting for him to come down in price, and the market shrinks.

I do like the Garland/Konerko suggestion for Castillo and Burnett. However, Delgado is out of the Sox range, so they would have to find a first baseman to target or go with Gload.

 

I will say this, Burnett is a hell of a pitcher, although I'd look for Perez over Clement and sign Pyrzinski as well.

 

That give the Sox a hell of a rotation though, with Contreras as a 5 and they'd have a very good 1-2 punch at the top of the order. The middle part of the order wouldn't be as pretty as some would like though.
