December 14, 200421 yr It seems to be there are some differing opinions on who will hit #2. It seems about halfway split between Rowand or Uribe. I'd be curious to hear which player should hit #2 and why, and also if anyone else thinks Willie would be a good fit at the #2 slot?

I'd be curious to hear which player should hit #2 and why, and also if anyone else thinks Willie would be a good fit at the #2 slot? As of right now it has to be arow. Aaron gets on base far more then Uribe and is a far better fit for that 2 hole, jmo.
December 14, 200421 yr The #2 guy should be a great situational hitter with excellent bat control. Uribe is a good offensive weapon and proved to be a fairly clutch hitter last year but I don't think his skills fit the #2 spot. Willie should be this guy but he's probably not ready. Until Willie's ready, I'd put Rowand here with Frank, Konerko, and Dye batting 3-5.
December 14, 200421 yr Who handles the bat best, is less prone to slumps, and doesn't overswing? Rowand. Uribe will have enough pressure on him being the starting SS on a supposed contending team. Let him hit #6-7 where he's more protected.
December 14, 200421 yr As it stands now, I can envision: Pods Rowand Dye Konerko Thomas Everett Uribe Davis Harris If Frank isn't ready by opening day: Pods Rowand Dye Konerko Everett Gload Uribe Davis Harris
December 14, 200421 yr As it stands now, I can envision: Pods Rowand Dye Konerko Thomas Everett Uribe Davis Harris If Frank isn't ready by opening day: Pods Rowand Dye Konerko Everett Gload Uribe Davis Harris Who's playing 3rd base? When frank is healthy I'm fairly confident the lineup will be: Spod arow frank pauly dye uribe crede davis harris
December 14, 200421 yr Frank will almost certainly be hitting number 3, since that's his preference. If not, then clean-up.
December 14, 200421 yr As it stands now, I can envision: Pods Rowand Dye Konerko Thomas Everett Uribe Davis Harris If Frank isn't ready by opening day: Pods Rowand Dye Konerko Everett Gload Uribe Davis Harris Replace Everett's name with Crede. Everett will DH while Frank is out and sub liberally for all three outfielders in order to get a lefty bat in the lineup.
December 14, 200421 yr Everett will DH while Frank is out and sub liberally for all three outfielders in order to get a lefty bat in the lineup. Everything is liberal with you.
December 14, 200421 yr Pods Uribe Dye Konerko Everett Rowand Crede Davis Harris I think this line up would give speed and versatility on the top and bottom of the order plus enough pop in the middle of it.
December 14, 200421 yr Pods Uribe Dye Konerko Everett Rowand Crede Davis Harris I think this line up would give speed and versatility on the top and bottom of the order plus enough pop in the middle of it. Jester, why do you think Uribe is better suited for the 2 hole over arow??
December 14, 200421 yr To tell you the truth Uribe and Rowand seem about the same to me. Neither really walk but both have speed and power. I think Uribe bunts alittle better than Rowand does...but not by enough to matter. I think those 2 can be switched either way really but I think Rowand makes the bottom of the order a little stronger because of having men on base Rowand seemed to be pretty clutch...IIRC. Its just my thoughts though without really checking all the stats in the world on this.
December 14, 200421 yr A-Row seems like he could be a better guy for the middle of the lineup...I like Uribe at the #2 spot.
