December 15, 200421 yr why does everyone seem to want konerko to leave so bad.... hes our BEST player
December 15, 200421 yr I might be inclined to say he's our 2nd best hitter...he's not better than Frank Thomas, and as for best "player", I think Freddie Garcia and Mark Burhrle are better. But that's just me. =y2=
December 15, 200421 yr why does everyone seem to want konerko to leave so bad.... hes our BEST player He's not going anywhere, so don't worry. By the way I'm not one of those people who wants him to leave, and I don't think that many people actually do want him gone. Maybe they just wanted him gone more than El Caballo.
December 15, 200421 yr why does everyone seem to want konerko to leave so bad.... hes our BEST player No one wanted to see him leave. Many of us wanted Paulie to get traded over CLee. This dates all the way back to when Kenny made it known that one of the two were going to get dished this offseason. By trading either Paulie or CLee, the Sox would free up enough dough to sign a significant free agent in the offseason (in this case a SP). So, although we didn't want to see him leave, many of us understood he had to if we wanted to free up enough money to stay competitive. It happened to be CLee that got trade...so we'll have Paulie all year long, no worries.
December 15, 200421 yr Author even after the horse left, many are still talking about trading him... it just makes no sense to me because with out him our lineup is weak
December 15, 200421 yr even after the horse left, many are still talking about trading him... it just makes no sense to me because with out him our lineup is weak He ain't going anywhere. The only situation that was brought up was the possibility of trading to him Arizona to get that three-way trade into motion. Newsflash: The D'Backs do not need Paulie on their roster. These last two signings have indicated that although they want to remain competitve, they are not just looking to dump salary. Paulie has a hefty contract, and to take on a player with no where to put him, and a nasty contract would be absurd. Rest assured, Paulie will be the starting 1B in 2005. Book it.

December 15, 200421 yr They fooled me, troy glaus and russ ortiz? :puke No kidding qwert. Those have got to be the two most puzzling moves of the offseason thus far. The only reason I could possibily see them making those two signings would be in an attempt to lure Randy to stay in Arizona....other than that, yikes. It was very NY Met like, was it not?

Yes, it was. Baltimore does the same thing by just going in one direction such as they are now with all hitting no pitching. Usually the mets do it with washed up players or players that are prone to injuries. I cannot wait until pedro gets injured, it is gonna happen sooner rather than later.
