December 18, 200421 yr Hey I saw this on rotoworld and it looks like he could be a decent pickup to use as a 5th starter if all else fails. What do you guys think? Mike Koplove - R - ARZ The Diamondbacks could consider non-tendering Mike Koplove, who is eligible for arbitration for the first time. Considering that he's due only $1 million or so in 2005, Koplove should have a little trade value if the Diamondbacks don't want him. The 28-year-old has a 3.44 ERA in 196 innings over the last four seasons. Dec. 18 - 1:53 pm et Source: Arizona Republic
December 18, 200421 yr Author nevermind, i thought it said last year... he's obviously not a starter whattabout if we were to lose marte? then he could be useful?
December 18, 200421 yr I don't think that a lack of potential 5th starters is our problem anyway. Either our rookies or one that we already have might do the job if needed, but it would be nice to get someone with experience, and one who doesn't give up a dozen home runs every start.
December 18, 200421 yr Author Honestly I really think that he could help... look at this bullpen (if we lose marte) Walker/Cotts/Adkins/Diaz Politte Hermanson Vizcaino Koplove Shingo Even without Marte that kicks ass, with him it's amazing.
December 19, 200421 yr Diamondbacks reliever Mike Koplove is the latest player to be thrown into the three-team Randy Johnson deal. He'll go to the Dodgers. At the moment, it looks like the trade could be submitted to the commissioner's office on Monday. Once that happens, 72-hour windows will be opened for the Yankees and Diamondbacks to agree on contract extensions with Johnson and Shawn Green, respectively. Dec. 18 - 7:34 pm et
