Pictures and producer Joel Silver, reports Variety. An adaptation of Alan Moore's graphic novel of the same name, the action-heavy script was written by the "Matrix" writers. Their longtime first assistant director James McTeigue will make his directorial debut on the film. The Wachowskis will produce with Warners-based Silver. Written by Alan Moore, with art by David Lloyd, "Vendetta" takes place in a totalitarian England following a devastating war that changed the face of the planet. In a world without political freedom, personal freedom and precious little faith in anything comes a mysterious man in a white porcelain mask who fights political oppressors through terrorism and seemingly absurd acts. Portman will play the young woman he's rescued, or possibly kidnapped, from the secret police to join him. McTeigue recently wrapped duties as first a.d.a.d. on Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, where he worked closely with Portman. The studio plans to start production the first week of March in Berlin for a fall 2005 release. July 23, 200520 yr Wasn't a fan of The Matrix movies and the trailer looked lackluster. One of those movies I have to wait for reviews on.
July 23, 200520 yr If Alan Moore has a lot of input into the film, then it'll probably be a very good movie. Moore is a very gifted writer in comics. I can't wait to see this assuming it will be nearly as good as the comic.

July 27, 200520 yr Upon seeing the trailer at apple.com/trailers over the weekend it reminds me of 1984 & F 451, & Equilibrium. Portman certainly looks like a good cast. But they need to cut a more action-packed trailer I think.
