Packers May Be Close to Shakeup

I don't think any one person should be coach and GM.

I think they need to worry about their defense and Farve before worrying about Sherman though.

I agree about the first part. However, I really don't know what Favre will do, but that same team could make the playoffs in the NFC next year. We'll see though.

I was talking with some Packers fans at work and we are in agreement that we think Farve is at the end of the line. Both back ups look to have much potential so it might be time to slowly bring them into the starting roll.

I agree, looking at Favre, I wasn't impressed this year. But his O line hasn't been great and his receiver corps hasn't been as top notch as it was either. He's still throwing 60 mph fastballs... its just his receivers aren't as open as they used to be.

I love it Mike Sherman out as GM, I'm all :D

Are you sure about all that?

The Pack had one of the best if not the best O-Lines in the league this year and that was without Flanny most of the year. I believe the line gave up the least or second least amount of sacks this year, had an 1800 yard rusher last year and a 1000+ yard rusher again this year.

As for Favre. He threw for over 4,000 yards and 30+ TD's again. They also had 2 1,000+ yard receivers. They were in the top of the league in offense in almost every category.

The reason the pack failed this year is the reason I predicted for them at the beginning of the year. Defense. Their line doesn't get enough push and many of the DB's are young and inexperienced. That or new to the defensive system, if you can call it that. If the Pack were in the middle of the road defensively they could have made some noise.

I agree that Sherman needed to be stripped of his GM duty. He has made a few good draft choices such as Barnett, Carroll(somewhat) and getting Grady Jackson. But, his draft choices for the mostpart leave something to be desired. See Cledtius Hunt, etc.

I pray that they bring in someone compitent and knowledgable to help resurrect the defense. However, it isn't easy to repair things in one off season. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.

While I think the o-line was above average, there were an awful lot of fumbles and missed catches that made Favre look worse than he has been getting. As for Favre, since last playoff season, he has been making some way out there decisions. With everything going on with him, it's not entirely surprising, but I do think it is time to start working Nall or O'Sullivan into the starting QB position.

my opinion is that they should draft a qb late third or second round, i dont know if im sold on osullivan and nall's finger problem (i think) worries me

Just seemed like every time I saw Favre throwing, he looked under too much pressure. Maybe he needs to give himself more time. There's nothing wrong with his mechanics - I've thought his decision making has been suffering for quite some time though.

it definitely wasnt his lines fault they did fine, his receivers were running some bad routes, and im not saying this for sympathy

Personally, I think he should retire before his skills start seriously lagging. This would be a good time for him to bow out with a lot of respect, rather than going the Johnny U. route. Next thing you know, he'll be starting for the Chargers and barely able to stand up on blown out knees.

Later rounds maybe, but they need defense first and foremost. As for Nall (he was impressive the time I saw him) and O'Sullivan (have yet to see him take a snap, I am sure he has, I just haven't seen it lol), I am willing to give them a try while Favre is still on the team to see what they can do.

I thought Pederson and Favre were the ones with finger/thumb problems?

i thought i remember the broadcasters saying that there was something wrong with nalls finger or arm or whatever/ :huh

Might be, it wouldn't be the first time I missed something lol.

Nall looked pretty good in his outting against the bears. I know, they are the Bears, but they have a decent defense? Hey, I tried lol!
