I was told that you sat right next to me at the big bar in the Hyatt on Saturday night and didn't even say hi?!? :huh

You should have said something. We could have talked some bowling or whatever.

:cheers

I probably saw him a couple of times but just didn't realize who he was.

It sucks because I've talked to him since the days of the ESPN message board. That was back before anyone knew about WSI and Soxtalk hadn't even been thought of yet.

Was he one of the guys that had to leave the bar?

Nope, he is old enough. He was the shorter guy with glasses that was almost straight across from you guys. Saturday he was right next to Oz Jr. while he was over there.

He did leave early though. Had a family thing to do Sunday. He was next to Mikster and Ozzie most of the night.

Ah, I read as he was referring to the youngins in our midst.

sorry bout that. I would've talked bowling too, especially since I'm now starting to bowl some respectable games after more than a year of crap.

I remember the ESPN days. I don't post as much as I did, but I check out the board everyday.

I bowled a 172, 130, and a 142 last night. I'm so inconsistant it's sick.

that was me for about a year, up until three months ago, when I started bowling like I always did, throwing 170-180. Unfortunately, we have yet to win a playoff spot. Two quarters have passed and two second place finishes. We're in first place three weeks into the third quarter though...

Hey ss2k5, were u waiting in line to get Pierzynski and Podsednik's autograph on Sunday? And did you also ask KW a question about Sweeney and Anderson? I thought it might have been you, but I couldn't remember cuz the last time I saw you was at the tailgate against the Bo-Sox.

We took 7 2 weeks ago.. NONE the week I was in Mexico.. and all 7 again last night. My team is so not serious and it pisses me off.. then I bowl bad. I bowled well last night for my 141 average.. but I know if they weren't such asses we'd all be better.

that was my team last year. I'm really really serious when it comes to bowling, or any league for that matter, so it was frustrating that two guys on the team last year were more worried about drinking than winning. this year, we have seven guys (we rotate, 5 each week) and we all want to win. None of us are great bowlers, but we are all solid and are very good at picking each other up, which is why we have the most points in the league. We took 7 last week from the team we were tied for first with.

it's very hard though to bowl good when you are on a team with a couple guys who don't really care.

Don't get me wrong.. I like to have some beers when bowling. But these ladies.. they are no shows at the last minute. They've "forgotten" about position rounds. They are just stupid. I'm changing teams next year.

I had a guy on my team, and he's done this with other teams, who never showed up on position nights. He's seriously done it a handful of times with different teams. he'll go on vacation and won't say anything or just simply won't show up. real dickhead.

I don't mind the drinking either. everyone on my team besides myself drink, which is fine, but they don't drink to where they are just talking louder and louder and paying less and less attention on the game.

this is the best team I've ever been on though. nobody on the team I don't like.

I did get Pyrz/Pod on Sunday. My question at Sunday's Q&A was for KW to give us a surprise guy out of the minors who would make a big splash this year.

I just wish I would have known you were there. Of course I find out after you had already left...

I haven't bowled on a league for a few years now. Just not enough time and money with 3 kids. They seem to be interested in it so we go and open bowl every once in a while.

I did go bowling for a bachelor party (yes, they had a bachelor party at a bowling alley. Not my idea) a couple of months ago. A couple of the guys brought their balls and shoes but I didn't so I ended up using a house ball and shoes.

Still ended up going over 200 and beating the guys that had their own equipment... :D

I was actually considering not bowling this year too ($40 a week is a bit too much for me at this point), but it's one thing I like to do, so I'd rather bowl in the league and cut financial corners on other things than not bowl. of course, I don't have many bills, no kids and live at home still...

We've bowled a few years when we really couldn't afford it but we always had a good time. The summer leagues where you pay a little extra and then go on a trip to a casino or get a free ball at the end of the season are fun as well.

No kids and still living at home? You should be out having fun.

It's only money right? ;)

Dammit. i thought you looked familiar. I saw you waiting in line behind me for Pierzynski. I thought that was you, but wasn't exactly sure. I remember seeing you at the Tailgate against Boston, and you looked familiar. Oh well. Next time I'll give you a shout out.

Figures. When it comes to reconizing people and remembering names, I am horrible. I can remember all those details of this weekend, but I can't remember someone's name :bang Such is me. :)
