January 22, 200521 yr From Robert Feder's column in the Sun-Times: * WSCR-AM (670), the Infinity Broadcasting sports talker locked in an epic struggle with ABC/ESPN rival WMVP-AM (1000), is scouting for a new program chief. Dan Zampillo, sports director at the Score since 2003, has resigned to become program director of WBNS-AM in Columbus, Ohio. Score bosses have upgraded the position to program director, reporting to general manager Paul Agase and station manager Drew Hayes. Zampillo also co-hosted "The Me and Z Show" with Laurence Holmes on Saturday nights. The one decent show they had besides Boers/Bernstein, and that one's gone too. Yet Mike North still works. Tragic. :headshake
January 22, 200521 yr The one decent show they had besides Boers/Bernstein, and that one's gone too. Yet Mike North still works. Tragic. :headshake that's too bad, I liked Me and Z on Saturday mornings or nights. I can only agree with you half way on Boers and Bernstein. I use to be a really big fan, but the down-turn in the ratings isn't really a suprise, I've found myself shutting them off more and more. It just seems they flip-flop on issues SO much, and they're so arrogant (notably Bernstein) when they take a position, that when they change opinions without acknowleding their previous stance, it gets frustrating. -for example, when Nomar first got here Bernstein was gizzing over him saying what an "exciting" player he is and how he just loves to watch him warm-up... well this was a double flip-flop, because when the Sox were going to get him last year he said what a dud he was, and then when he was hurt at the end of the season he was really down on him and saying things along the ilk of "yeah, i always had my doubts" -there's a bunch of situations like that. I still listen because when they're being silly, they're really funny, also Boers has some real good NBA/MLB sources, he doesn't come out and make statements, but he implies things and talks about talking to "his guys" and a lot of that stuff comes to pass
January 22, 200521 yr I tuned them out when they mocked the anniversary of the passing of Daryl Kile. That was the last I needed to hear of them. I really like the late night Me and Z show. They were pretty arrogant too, but they pulled it off. In fact, they were at their best not talking sports and just talking about Z and the ladies. Funny stuff.
January 22, 200521 yr They better use Lawrence in a good way. Don't throw him with North. At least team him with Murph, he deserves that much.
January 23, 200521 yr The first show I ever listened to on the Score was theres one Saturday night. I liked it, it was funny and it also seemed like the two of them had good chemistry. I'm going to miss the show.
January 24, 200521 yr Better not have Z's partner go solo.... "Hey, everybody, it's time for the ME show....."
January 24, 200521 yr Lawrence Holmes has been doing solo shows for a while, he just calls it the me show. I remember when it was the sports underground with Lawrence Holmes I don't remember the exact name but him solo is nothing new.
January 24, 200521 yr QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) The Me Show = dumbest show name I've heard. He'll probably go back to the Sports Underground like he used to call it before he teamed up with Zampillo.
