We do need to get away from being such a toss it in the landfill society. I suspect it wuld finally get shoppers to bring their own bags. I noticed that my local "Health Food, Hippy Coop" store has way more people being in their own bags than the mega-shop, processed food grocery and crap store.

I cloth bag it when I remember. Aldi and Sav-A-Lot charge for shopping bags I think. And a lot of grocery stores will give you a four or five cent per bag rebate if you bring your own.
