Babe ruth for me.

I voted Maris.

...or maybe that's just me. I consider jucing to be cheating, thus negating all records.

i voted bonds. 73>70>66>61 :huh

Explain.

Have a feeling it involves an asterisk.

:)

I say, who cares? With all the juicing, the number doesn't matter anymore. Career matters more. There may be juicing, but it also implies health and batting eye. No matter how much juicing Bonds did in his career, that only makes some of fly balls homers.

Anyone can have a fluke season or three (I'm talking to you Sammy or Brady Anderson when he hit 50), but over the span of a 20 year career, that's impressive. If homers were all about juicing, McGwire would've passed Aaron first.

Why is Sosa even a choice? :huh

If you believe that Mac and Bonds used steriods, and believe that Sosa did not, then Sosa would have the highest legitimate single season home run total.

Takes a lot of imagination to believe it.

Babe ruth for me.

Agreed. The guy was hungover half the time, and it still took 3 guys on the juice 70 years later to hit 60 homeruns faster than he did. I'm not a fan of praising Maris, he got an extra 10 games to try to break the record in.

Maybe your saying marris cheated? Single season Ruth fell 1 short.

Not really. Technically Maris had 7 more games to hit his 61. However, Maris played in only 156 games where Babe played in 151 in 1927.

Babe had 705 total plate appearances and Maris had just 698, so in reality Babe got more chances.

Maris did play in 161 games in 1961 the year he broke the record. Ruth never had 705 plate apperances in his career.

hey motherf***er , that is what I got from your ruth comment. Sorry I was wrong. Obviously this poll was made because of all the alleged cheating. I could not think of any other reason you would not pick marris. I forgot about the more games played by maris. Its been a while since I watched 61* .

OT: is that Ichiro suzuki on your avator?

No reason to start a drama thread here, but there is an ignore feature.
