April 10, 200322 yr http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-d...ov=ap&type=lgns The DRays are working out John Rocker, and might sign him to a minor league deal. :puke
April 10, 200322 yr next they will be giving a try out to Jaime Navarro if only Eddie Cicotte wasn't banned from baseball, they could give him a try too!
April 10, 200322 yr Paul Byrd to have elbow surgery on Friday to remove bone chips and will be out 2-4 months.
April 10, 200322 yr Author next they will be giving a try out to Jaime Navarro if only Eddie Cicotte wasn't banned from baseball, they could give him a try too! And you can see the GM of the Rays going Jaime Navarro? Hell NO!!! Even I have standards!
April 10, 200322 yr Well, the Devil Rays suck, and they are going nowhere fast, so I think this is a worthwhile risk for Sweet Lou. What's the worse than can happen? Rocker will blow a game or 2 and then get cut? BFD, what's the difference between 90 losses and 92 or 93? I feel that Rocker is good enough to be in the majors, but not for a contending team -- at least not until he gets some help for his issues. His antics could potentially cost a good team a shot at the post season -- but a team like TB, the potential gain outweighs the potential loss, IMO.
April 11, 200322 yr Paul Byrd to have elbow surgery on Friday to remove bone chips and will be out 2-4 months. Guess the Phillies didn't see that one coming
April 11, 200322 yr So I guess we'll be hearing an announcement from Harold soon..? Or how about Sweet Lou becoming a player/coach!!!
April 11, 200322 yr I can see TB making this move. If Rocker can be anything close to the pitcher he was with Atlanta, come the trade dealine, he might have some value. I read several teams approached KW about our LH relievers at the end of ST.
