Jabroni
http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws TUCSON - The Chicago White Sox made three player moves following Wednesday's spring training game vs. the Kansas City Royals: LHP Ryan Meaux, LHP David Sanders and LHP Josh Stewart were reassigned to minor-league camp. With the moves, the White Sox have 40 players remaining in camp. 15 more players to cut. Edited March 16, 2005 by Jabroni
Guest JimH
Seems like most of the non roster guys are getting cut, no surprise there. Harrelson mentioned at the very end of the broadcast that two guys have a good chance to make the team ... Pablo Ozuna and Kevin Walker. To my eyes, Ozuna looks better than Wilson Valdez. Meanwhile, Willie Harris is making it harder for the Sox to keep him, his batting average continues to plummet ... not that Iguchi is setting the world on fire either. One thing I will say for Iguchi, he has an idea of what's coming at the plate. He will have a big time adjustment period but he's not really being fooled. He has looked good so far but there's just no room for him in the bullpen unless we carry 12 pitchers. These guys are pretty much guaranteed spots... Melissa1334
hawk said that ozzie said they might bring walker because hes pitched great and because of the division we play in. he can be a good situational lefty. he deserves a spot, thus far

I thought I remembered seeing a thread about it a while back ago As Jabroni said, there is nothing guaranteed, but it has been mentioned before. I'll see if I can dig it up, or dig anything up on it. Also...as qwerty said, Cotts is not guaranteed a spot on the roster. I personally would like Cotts down in AAA starting, but that is not my decision to make. I agree though, Cotts might be better off in Charlotte learning to become a better starting pitcher.
Guest JimH
On this Walker/Cotts thing, it's a good problem to have. If Walker was stinking up the joint this spring we wouldn't even be talking about it. I'm pretty sure Cotts has minor league options left (I will have to ask quickman about it though) and as such it may make sense to send him down to start ... or just pitch a lot. If Walker turns out to be a turd, no harm no foul. Cut him and bring Cotts back. Not saying all this will happen but when you have a guy doing very well in spring games it raises questions and opens possibilities.
Gene Honda Civic
On walker: 1) he needs to continue his good spring. All things being equal, Ozzie would take Cotts over walker. Plus walker's more expensive (albiet by about 200K if he makes the roster) On Iguchi: I think that leg kick thing he's got going on with his front foot is going to be what delays him being ready. Timing could be an issue for quite a while. Ozzie doesn't seem too impressed with his defense either. On Willie: He was adequate at SS today. On Ozuna: He looks like he's on the team to me. 3B/SS/2B back-up.
Jabroni
On Ozuna: He looks like he's on the team to me. 3B/SS/2B back-up. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Damn, I must have missed every game that Ozuna played 3B in. How does he look at 3B? Did he make any errors at bad plays there?

Guest JimH
I saw him at one game last week while I was out there, think it was vs. the Padres. He is taking ground balls at 3B in infield practice, as is Valdez. I asked Williams if Ozuna could play 3B, answer was yes.

nitetrain8601
I don't think Cotts is guarenteed a playoff spot. I'd say you have a better chance of seeing Walker making it and Cotts would probably be stretched out in AAA. Cotts would be a September callup though.
