April 9, 200521 yr Latest News Apr. 9, 2005 - 1:50 pm et Brandon McCarthy, who was originally scheduled to pitch for Triple-A Charlotte Friday, will pitch tonight. McCarthy was likely pushed back because of Jon Garland's illness. He won't be called up if Garland is fine. Source: Charlotte Observer
April 9, 200521 yr Rotoworld is dead wrong. Bmac was always scheduled to pitch on Saturday. They want him pitching on the same schedule as the Sox 5th starter, ie Garland. And no, they won't call him up for todays start. I am 99% positive on that.
April 9, 200521 yr QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) Rotoworld is dead wrong. Bmac was always scheduled to pitch on Saturday. I am 99% positive on that. calling him up to pitch his MLB debut in the Metrodome.....that would classify in my book as a bad idea.
April 9, 200521 yr I see Brandon coming up to replace our 3 or 4 before Garland. This is the certain kiss of death for Garland, but I feel really, really, good about him for 2005. He's going to win 16-18 this season and be our #2. Yet will be pitching #4 in the playoff rotation. Am I getting far enough ahead of myself there
April 9, 200521 yr Makes no sense. Who do they send down to take his place? Plus, Buehrle is on normal rest.
April 9, 200521 yr Like I said, his start was never pushed back to tonight, he was always scheduled to pitch today, cause they want him on the same schedule as the 5th starter.
