time to get it in gear

Our sox are a nice 8 and 4 on the season through the first 12... and are tied for first place...

sure we could very easly be 10 and 2... but we have nothing to gripe about when we have won every single series thus far this year....

one thing i havent seen posted yet about our offense is the hope we all should see on the horizon...

the starting pitching has been pretty stellar... the bullpen has its issues and will be much better when everyone gets going.

the same goes with the offense... check this stuff out

scotty pods - hitting .280, stealing bases, doing the little things that count... he'll be a nice thing to have around again when he is fully healthy (hopefully tomarrow)

iguchi- he has been making a great statement thus far with a lot of quality at bats and is still in the process of adjusting.. all the while hitting .289 to date.... i expect him to either stay around this line and hit with more power as he continues to adjust... it also isnt that far off to say he can hit above .300 this year

everett- another solid hitter thus far in the season and another reason why we are 8 and 4... everett came into camp in shape and is continuing to impress hitting .317.

paulie- true paulie does have a lot of RBI's and 6 HR's so far this year... however, he is only hitting .233

dye- has had a few very key at bats but is only hitting .190

rowand - currently only hitting .244

pierzynski - currently only hitting .205

crede - hitting .244.... i think that he's gonna keep improving but who knows, he is our true number nine hitter

uribe - hitting a dismal .229... we all know by now that juan is a very streaky hitter, hopefully he will catch fire and will tear it up very very soon.

our team batting average is currently .248

that is not going to stay that way

my entire point here is: even though our offence has been pretty much awful... with a couple of exceptions... we have still won 8 out of 12 games.

once our offence is firing on all cylenders, we should be a very very good team

i mean, right now... paulie, dye, rowand, pierzynski, and uribe are hitting .233... there is no way in hell that will stay that way... at least 3 out of those 5 are almost a lock to hit above .290... if not every single one of them

just something to think about, and heres to hoping that some how, magicly... this post will fire up to offence and we will see what we are capable of doing with the bats in the up comming series against the twins.

problem is by the time the offense comes around, the pitching will go into a funk...its the ups and downs of baseball....but we'll keep on keepin on, and as long as we win series, thats all that matters.

Well if we win or tie every series we are in, we will end up winning something like 108 games, give or take.

I very much doubt that happens...but I'll take it :)

I think the pitching is good enough to remain consistent all year. The offense will come around. I'm not worried too much.
