Well this is more for fantasy baseball..but

 

Turnbow got the save today. Adams has been closer but hes been rockie a bit. who is the closer (if you know?) or is it a mix bewteen the 2.

lol, well i dont have much closers, i have 2 him and benitez i got great hitting and decent starters no closers.. so i try to get teh sleepers

I just dropped Adams for Turnbow within the past hour, and then this thread pops up. Ain't that some s***.

 

I have Armando Benitez, Joe Nathan, Mike MacDougal, and Derrick Turnbow to supplement my starting crew of Pedro Martinez, Chris Carpenter, Brandon Webb, CC Sabathia, Gustavo Chacin, and Dan Haren. Should I go with 7 starters and 3 closers? I dunno. When Jeremy Affeldt gets off the DL and takes over for MacDougal, I'll probably pick up another starter. But for the time being, it's a nice luxury to have four closers.

Burgos is now the official closer for KC. KC doesn't close much of anything so you'd be better off avoiding that mess.

Burgos? Damn, I need to log in and check my s***! I'm snatching that dude up. Someone's gonna bust out Kolb-style this year, and it'll probably be on a really weak team.

At the time, this was right on the money.

 

But since April 24, Turnbow's stats:

 

4 Saves

3 Wins

2 hits allowed in 11 innings

 

Unbelievable.

 

You knew that a couple guys would emerge this year. Last year, you had Kolb, Cordero, etc. This year, Turnbow and Lyon are coming on strong.

Turnbow is their closer now. He blew it today on the HR to Ramirez (got the win anyways) but he's very young and throws 98 MPH with pretty good control, so he's the closer by default.

Well they have pitched him in every key late game situation in the last almost 2 weeks now, so yes I'm sure.

Turnbow could be the next Mike Macdougal. Maybe he's going to be better than that but it's hard to draw conclusions about meteoric closers

I tried out macdougal from kc, big mistake. I tried fassero from SF after benitez went down, and just missed brandon lyon off free agency.
