May 9, 200520 yr QUOTE(quickman @ May 9, 2005 -> 05:37 PM) watch out the lantern is a CUb Bar. Big time. We are all in the same hood, we need a different bar. Helluva a menu though. And free popcorn? Hell yeah Edited May 9, 200520 yr by WHarris1
May 9, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(KWs OK for Me @ May 9, 2005 -> 10:36 PM) Speaking of hole in the walls in Naperville. Anyone else know another good hole in the wall type neighborhood bar in Naperville? Other than Neighbors How big of a hole? Not kidding
May 9, 200520 yr QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 9, 2005 -> 05:38 PM) Helluva a menu thought. If you need a new bar go to Neighbors, its like 2 stores down from the DMV on 75th. Great bar, it's a Michigan bar though! Good menu, decently priced, good wait staff. Nice neighborhood feeling bar, plus its out of downtown. But on a sidenote, anyone else know a bar like that other than Neighbors?
May 9, 200520 yr Author If you want a newer place, I like The Red door especially on weeknights, they will ahve the SOx on, but my new favorite is peanuts. Its a hole and its good.

Haha awesome, I'm like 5 minutes from Neighbors.
May 9, 200520 yr watch out the lantern is a CUb Bar. Big time. We are all in the same hood, we need a different bar. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not when I'm in there it isn't. Don't be such a girly girl, it is what you make it. Hole in the wall ... White Tavern on Ogden, just east of Washington on the north side of the street. Honorable mention ... Peanuts in downtown Naperville, just west of The Lantern. Salted in the shell peanuts on the table, a waitress who looks great for 50 but unfortunately she's 40, and decent food. TQ, any additions? May 9, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(KWs OK for Me @ May 9, 2005 -> 10:40 PM) The Red Door? Where's that at? these are both in downtown naperville
May 9, 200520 yr QUOTE(quickman @ May 9, 2005 -> 05:41 PM) these are both in downtown naperville Really? Where at?
May 9, 200520 yr The Red Door? Where's that at? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agree on Neighbors. Red Door is downtown Naperville, across the street from Jimmy's. Casual, family place. Weird draft beer selection though, and definitely not friendly on the pocket book (the beer that is). Food is pretty good and not expensive.

I am thinking, but lets not carried away when you are in Lantern, you get one f***ing tv, thats it. take it easy.
May 9, 200520 yr I am thinking, but lets not carried away when you are in Lantern, you get one f***ing tv, thats it. take it easy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Think about this, how many tv's do you need? I can usually get by with watching the game on one tv. You're weird.

Have you been in Features since they remodeled? Tons of plasma TVs, cheap burgers, pool tables, although definitely does not classify as a whole in the wall. Nice place, cheap food, expensive beer
May 9, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(KWs OK for Me @ May 9, 2005 -> 10:42 PM) Really? Where at? peanuts is on chicago next to Rosebuds, Red door is next to Pottery barn. I like both. Jim is very particular, try them both. The owner of the door is very cool. The owner (one of them) of peanuts is the guy that owns Nick Gyros. Food at the door is good, and I do like the Beer. I got them to get pabst in the bottle, and Jim got Peanuts to get pabst.
May 9, 200520 yr Author QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 9, 2005 -> 10:44 PM) :puke Jimmy's only for women, not for games
May 9, 200520 yr Another good place in downtown Naperville, I will get an argument from TQ on this one ... Brickhouse Pizza, they will put the Sox on and the manager is a big Sox fan. All the staff is very friendly and they are especially accommodating to Mr. and Mrs. Jim H. Rolling Rock, on tap, for $1.00 on Saturdays, all day. It will soon go op to $1.50. For those who like Bud Lite on draft ... $1.50 every day, all the time.

May 9, 200520 yr I miss Bud's. That place was awesome! Right next to Hooters, tons of TVs, the waitresses were cute, they knew you. That place was the s***. Too bad it closed down

Nice place, cheap food, expensive beer <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Great tv's in Features, it gets way too crowded late but if you are a young guy on the prowl, go there IMMEDIATELY. Do not pass "GO", just get there IMMEDIATELY. I'm told the owner is a big White Sox fan. They will always have all the games on in there, although the wait staff is not what I'd call especially accomodating in terms of putting the game on a particular tv.
