June 21, 200520 yr Author I know there's a big difference, but it's just a prefix. And some carbon monoxide comes from burning fuel, but CO2 is mainly produced. Here's the chemistry: CxHx(l) + air(g) = CO2(g) + H2O(g) + N2(g) + O2(g) ONLY IF combustion is incomplete (I.E. at a temperature CxHx(l) + air(g) = CO2(g) + H2O(g) + N2(g) + O2(g) + CO(g) Edited June 22, 200520 yr by techgeekxp
