Oz wanted to give PK a day off...when the Sox have a day off on Thursday? K...So if PK does come back rested and his mind right and goes on a streak...will anybody remember this point and say Ozzie was smart to do this?

Also...somebody please tell me they didn't give...or Timo opted to use a brand new glove...that hadn't been broken in or anything to a guy that really doesn't play 1st?!?

What really sucks is that Ozzie did not even bother to pinch hit Paulie in the later part of the game

I mean, why was WIllie even taking a bat in his hand as the tying run instead of Paulie...yeah Willie walked but still....

You're preaching to the choir with me, Wanne.

It's fun to second guess managerial moves, but I don't pretend to know jack about why a manager does what he does. We have no idea why Perez was playing first. We have no idea why Walker was brought in. I've already made a case that the Walker move came from KW, not Ozzie. Who knows? As to the glove, trying to guess whether it was new or broken in is a fool's task.

This post is so confusing

We were down 4 runs, Willie went up there, he was patient. He took a fastball right down the middle 3-1 because it's not really worth swinging at it and risking an out. Had Willie, or in this case Pauly as your sugesting, hit a HR, we still would have been down by a run. He did the right thing and looked to bring the tying run to the plate by any means necessary.

Good point. It is the same reason you don't risk taking extra bases or stealing late in the game while trailing. The whole point is to get the tying and go-ahead runs up to the plate to give the team a chance to win.
