Well, if the Royals can do this to the Yankees with their team, maybe it's better for the Twins that they're down a few players. Maybe the worse the team is, the worse the Yankees play against them.?

X-rays on Justin Morneau's elbow were negative, and he's listed as day-to-day.

With the Yankees up next, today's injuries are coming at a bad time. Morneau's status for tomorrow is uncertain.

Joe Mauer aggravated his right groin injury in the final inning of today's game against the Indians.

It's unclear whether he'll be available this weekend. Since the Twins need to show extra caution with their catcher, maybe he'll placed on the disabled list this time.

Twins placed shortstop Nick Punto on the 15-day disabled list with a pulled right hamstring.

Not wasting any time. Rather than recall Jason Bartlett, the Twins will go with Brent Abernathy at second base for now. He's a decent short-term pickup in NL-only leagues.
